PROTON SESSION #3-"Tipping The Scales"

Apparently radiation sessions will be a day to day evaluation(whether Menschi can have the treatment based on his daily health status).
Everyday, we go in and Menschi gets looked over by the nurse and the anestesiologist. Nurse Thao (she's there exclusively for the kids - yay!) heard some wheezing this morning (I thought it was audible to my ears as well), but it must have cleared by the time the Doctor listened, because he gave the go ahead for today's radiation. Pulmicort and Albuterol nebulizer treatments and prednisone round the clock started yesterday, and Thank G-d, they seem to be doing something. Menschi used to have this reactive airway problem every time he got a cold, but since the chemo regimen his autoimmune responses (such as asthma) weren't really problematic. On one hand, I guess that means that the chemo isn't really in his system anymore, but the side effect of surpressing eczema and asthma was nice . . . Tomorrow could be like Monday was, or like today. We won't know if he's having treatment till we get here due to his congestion. Fever is the only sure obstacle at this point.
Please daven that Menschi is able to get the treatment he needs in the timeframe he needs it in! We have a tight schedule with a clinical trial to follow (he'll be disqualified from joining the trial if we are too many days away from transplant). While you have that tehillim out, please have in mind an outstanding member of our Savannah community who is in critical condition, Shulamis Buniah bas Eta Bleema.
People always want to know how they can help in times of crises. For some ideas on "actions to take on in a merit of complete healing" visit the link on the side of this blog for "menschathon."Using this as an opportunity for personal growth is more helpful than you may think(especially during the auspicious month of Elul). Your action could be the one that "tips the scale of merit" in our favor! May all of our concerted efforts bring a Refuah Shelaimah to all Cholei Yisroel!
