An American Girl

2ND graders had to dress like a character from a book they read and tell the class about their story. Leah chose "Meet Addy" from the "American Girl Series" because she was inspired by the bravery this little girl had to have in order to escape. Although admittedly lighter skinned, Leah looked very much like the photographs in her book -- and she was the one responsible to find the appropriate attire. She did a pretty fine job, don't you think? Although hard to outdo other classmates impressively dressed like Sacajawea, George Washington, and the Belzer Rebbe, we applaud her efforts in both reading and ingenuity. Leah would very much like to be an author/illustrator one day and she tries to use every minute of her day as creatively as possible! She's impressed with Addy's journey when I'm impressed with how brave she's been through her own trials. Leah has a lot to be proud of!
