Recovery

Menschi has been having a tough time since the surgery. Pain meds were not controlling his pain until this evening (they start a low level of narcotics until they find a suitable level for pain relief- don't want to give more than necessary). In addition, he's had post surgery fevers and difficulties with urine output. To add to the drama, a little baby with sickle cell in the room next door passed away. That was the first time that I witnessed that on this floor and it was very painful as well as sobering.
